Instructional Design

Hi!  I have over 10 years of experience in corporate learning and development.  I started as a professor 11 years before that.  I always loved using technology as a tool for better learning experiences. This led me to my first LMS experiences and started my journey to the corporate HRIS.

Meditation and Mindfulness

In 2017, I started my meditation practice with an app and I just kept going.   During COVID, I got my 200 hr Yoga teacher certification and did a Mindfullness teacher training. I started to blend the two in my yoga classes. Last year I completed Spirit Rock's Mindful Leadership and finished a Metta Teacher Training.

iDesign Learning Instructional Philosophy

Learning is change.  Transfer of what we learn is when real learning takes place.  


  • If the learning is intellectual, this could look like learning how to apply a mathematical formula to a physics problem.  
  • If the learning is emotional or behavioral, this could look like learning to settle your emotions before you go into a meeting so that you can present with confidence.  
  • If the learning is physical, this could look like driving a car and concentration on the other cars because pressing the gas and brake at the correct times are automatic physical reactions. 


The best learning solutions, make the learning as close as possible to the real world.  Simplifying for focus on specific tasks and adding complexity as you learn more.  


Providing motivation and a safe space to experiment with mistakes make for faster transfer.  Finally, follow up drip learning ensures that the gains that we make in learning stabilize and grow.  

Mindfulness Services for iDesign Learning

iDesign Learning Mindfully

Mindfulness is Awareness.  Awareness of your experience with kindness toward what you find.  


  • Practicing being aware, can be done through meditation, yoga, and quick check in practices where you find a place of deliberate focus on what is going on in your body and mind.
  • Once you have even a brief awareness, kindness is essential.  If you notice you are thinking and part of your mind immediately thinks "This is a waste of time!"   Congratulate yourself, you have found your inner critic!  This part of our mind that can make meditation difficult.  By recognizing, acknowledging and being kind to the inner critic,  "Yes there are a million other things to be doing...and this is the one I am choosing now."  The inner critic will eventually settle down.
  • The goal of this practice is being open to what your are experiencing and being ok with what is happening.  If it is joyous or uncomfortable, happy or enraging, this ability to focus on what is happening is the superpower of Mindfulness.
